Explorer error "Destination already contains folder/file" when copying to empty destination
Copying a WindowsImageBackup directory (~70GB) to a different disk using Explorer shows errors "This destination already contains a folder ..." or "There is already a file with the same name in this location" at the end of copying process (5s remaining). This is reproducible. All disks NTFS.Happens with different disks connected to different controllers.Copying to the root of the destination disks. The destination directory definitely does not exist before copying. A checkdisk /f found no errors on source and dest disk. Example filename: "E:\WindowsImageBackup\Win7\Backup 2009-02-23 132418\1e88079a-f520-11dd-bd8c-806e6f6e6963.vhd"

Hi Pmeinl, Could you please test a file with 8.3-generated names? Or renaming the file to a short name to test the problem? Thanks.

After renaming all long directory and file names with 8.3 names the problem does not occur. The problem can be reproduced easily:1. Create an image backup using Win7 Backup.2. Copy the resulting directory to the root of a different drive. We had similar problems under Vista.
